Class 120(2) A yarn-feeding device for use in textile machines comprises an endless belt D around two pulleys A, C on an arm B urged about a pivot by a spring b<SP>1</SP> or a weight to engage the belt with a driving roller; the axes of the pulleys and the roller are parallel and the diameter of one roller is considerably smaller than that of the other, while the speed of the band is adjusted relative to that at which the yarn is taken-up by the take-up package to ensure that the latter exerts only a small tension on the yarn. The yarn passes from a guide d which may not be on the arm, in one or more loops around the belt, passing between the nip of the driving-roller and the belt: when more than one loop is used the loops also pass over the grooves of a roller F, as shown in the winding arrangement of Fig. 3.
