Abstract

851,941. Thermal switches. METALS & CONTROLS CORPORATION. Jan. 2, 1958 [March 28, 1957], No. 237/58. Class 38 (5). In a switch similar to that of Specification 521,236, the resetting plate 70 bears at its ends on extensions 50, 52 of the bi-metallic disc 34 which extensions are arranged at right-angles to the line joining the contacts 42, 44 which may be mounted on bars 46, 48 as in Specification 851,721. The extensions may move in base recesses 66, 68 so as to prevent rotation of the disc 34, or may have notches, one of which engages a rib on the base (Fig. 10, not shown). The disc 34 may be heated by the current through it, or by an auxiliary heater (Figs. 10- 13, not shown). Specification 178,103 also is referred to.
