Abstract
850,786. Frying pans. GOODFELLOW, W. L. June 25, 1959 [June 28, 1958; Dec. 17, 1958; Jan. 8, 1959; March 12, 1959], Nos. 20782/58, 40648/58, 712/59 and 8534/59. Class 66. The handle B of a frying pan has a supporting leg c for tipping the pan, the leg being pivoted on a rib c moulded on the handle which may be of synthetic plastics material. The base of the pan has a chamfered portion a ; and the handle may have a metal strip embedded in it. The leg C may be pivoted on a block sliding in guides under the handle, Fig. 3 (not shown) ; or the leg C may be telescopic, Fig. 6 (not shown). The first Provisional Specification states that the leg may be of sheet or strip metal bent on itself to form a base and clamped to the pan handle by means of a nut and bolt; the second Provisional Specification describes a leg having a boss at its end entering a recess in the pan handle, a leaf spring in the recess engaging a cam on the boss to vary the angle of the leg ; and the fourth Provisional Spedification describes a pan handle with a guide for a runner on which a leg is pivoted, the handle being moulded of polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane and the runner of nylon.
