Class 97(1) A peephole device comprises a hollow body portion 1 adapted for fitting in a door aperture, semi-reflecting mirror 10 attached as at 9 to one end of the body portion 1 and partly covered on its inner surface by an opaque wall 8 forming part of the body portion 1, a concave lens 5 close to the mirror 10 and a small hole 2 at the other end of the body portion to permit viewing through the body portion, lens and mirror. This small hole 2 is preferably covered by a magnifying lens 3 convex on at least one side. Mirror 10 is preferably outwardly convex. In a modified form, not shown, the mirror is framed by the outer surface of a negative meniscus lens.
