Abstract

A composition for application to the human scalp for promoting the growth of hair thereon comprises carbon disulphide, carbon tetrachloride and a humectant such as glycerine. Other ingredients of the compositions may include camphor, neatsfoot oil, lanoline, cantharidini, tincture of Mucuna and pilocarpine. The compositions may also contain a diluent such as ethanol, and may be prepared in liquid form, as jellies, as pastes or as creams.
