Abstract

776,832. Storing rods. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. July 6, 1955 [April 7, 1954], No. 10260/54. Class 78 (1). A rack for storing rods comprises two or more vertical members 50, 60 arranged one behind the other and spaced apart, each such member providing a slot 2 of zig-zag form extending from the upper part to the lower end of the vertical members, stop-members 21 being provided at the lower ends of the slots to limit the descent of the articles and means 25, 26 being provided adjacent these ends of the slots for delivering the articles singly from the rack. As shown, the rods are lifted off support 14 by chain conveyers 15 and are raised to drop on to plates 19 and, under the control of a lever 37 (operated by piston 38), are guided into the appropriate zig-zag slot 2 in which they form a stack held by first stop 21. The rods are lifted singly step-bystep over both stops by levers 25, which latter are reciprocated about pivot 28 by piston 31.
