Abstract
750,053. Pallet trucks. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GES. April 5, 1954 [May 7, 1953], No. 9933/54. Class 78 (3). In a pallet truck having on the rear end of each fork arm 2 a swinging arm 13 carrying a roller 12 and adapted to be swung downwards as the front ends of the forks are raised by a ram 3 on a lifting head 1, auxiliary rollers 10 are carried on swivel arms on the truck in such manner that when the front ends of the forks are partially lifted the auxiliary rollers are brought into contact with the ground to support the forks while rollers 12 are lifted whereby the latter can clear the bottom strip 19 of a pallet, further lifting of the front ends of the forks swinging the arms 13 downwards to raise the rear ends of the forks. As shown, each arm 13 is pivoted at 15 to the respective fork arm, and is associated with an arm 14 which is connected by a rod 16 with one arm 17 of a double cranked lever 8, 9, 17 pivoted at 18 on the respective fork arm and at 7 on the head 1, the arm 8 of this lever carrying the respective auxiliary rollers 10.
