736,662. Toothed gearing. ETABLISSEMENTS J. FACON & CIE. Sept. 30, 1953 [July 4, 1953], No. 26846/53. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group V] A rack-and-pinion device for moving a mould platen 10 or the injection piston (not shown). of an injection-moulding machine (see Group V) comprises a toothed rack 12 having a straight part 15a and a curved terminal portion 15b, the rack being moved by a pinion 13 from the Fig. 4 position to the Fig. 5 position. At the end of the stroke (Fig. 5) the pinion tilts the rack, giving a kind of toggle effect. During the straight run the rack is supported by a roller 17 running in a groove 16 in the rack. Four such devices are driven 'by gearing from an electric motor.
