Abstract

[Also in Division B5] For transferring a mould form 46 from the ejector piston 44 of a moulding machine to the arms 50 of a discharge conveyer there is employed a rotary conveyer 100 which has two arms 31, 32 carried by horizontal shaft 33 driven from motor 38 so as to be rotatable about the horizontal axis and carried by vertical shaft 22 rotatable about its axis by rack and pinion 28, 27. Additionally each arm carries a cylinder and piston 40, 41 and magnets 43. Operation.-The device is swung about its vertical axis till magnets 43 of arm 31 are situated beneath the mould form 46 carried by moulding press ejector piston 44, as shown at the left of Fig. 2. Piston 44 is lowered to lower the form on to magnets 43 and piston 41 is lowered by cylinder 40 so that form 46 is secured within arm 31. The device is then rotated about its vertical axis and also about its horizontal axis 33 till form 46 is positioned over the arms 50 of the discharge conveyer as shown at the right of Fig. 2. Piston 41 is released by cylinder 40 so that form 46 now resting on arms 50 is left there when the device is again rotated. The cycle is repeated.
