712,322. Artificial limbs. STEEPER (ROEHAMPTON), Ltd., H. Sept. 22, 1952 [June 27, 1951], No. 15237/51. Class 81(2) Bending the elbow of an artificial arm is effected by a cord 9 fastened to the shoulder at 10 and to an actuating lever 12 on the forearm, this cord being pulled sideways by a strap 13 to shorten its effective length. The connection between the strap 13 and cord 9 may be made by means of a running wire ring 14, a fixed ring or a small pulley attached to the strap 13.
