Abstract

688,478. Cam mechanism. BROWN & SONS (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D., and TUPLIN, W. A. May 2, 1951 [Feb. 2, 1950], No. 2688/50. Class 80 (iii). The linear movement of a part g, Fig. 1, driven by a cam b is controlled by a surface f which may be plane or curved and is preferably adjustable. The cam acts on a roller c carried by a bell crank d which also carries a roller e engaging the control surface f and is pivoted to the part g. In a modification the part g is pivoted to the end of a curved lever whose other end coacts with a control surface and which carries a cam-engaging roller intermediate of its ends. In a further modification, Fig. 4, the part g is linked to a bell crank d which coacts with a control surface f and is pivoted at d' to a lever h coacting with the cam b and having a fixed pivot h<SP>1</SP>.
