[Also in Group XXIV] The shafts of ganged variable -resistance units for radio or television sets are coupled by a disc 40 having a pair of apertures 44 shaped as shown in Fig. 4, so that the disc may, while in an eccentric position, be passed over the forward end of the shaft 34 of a rearward unit 10<SP>1</SP>, with the central part 42 of the disc engaging a slot 26 in the end of the shaft so as to couple the parts 34, 40 for rotation, and may then be moved radially into central position in which narrower parts 46 of the apertures cooperate with an annular groove 38 on the shaft 34 to hold the parts 34, 40 axially, the disc 40 having slots 48 which engage, when the units are assembled together, with fingers 22 on a plate 20 secured to the rearward end of the shaft 18 of the adjacent forward unit 10. With the fingers 22 engaged in the notches 48, the disc 40 is prevented from moving radially to such an extent as to free itself from the groove 38. A radial projection 24 on one finger 22 cooperates with a stop 17 to limit the rotation. In the twin unit shown, the forward unit 10 is clamped against a plate 16 secured to a bushing 14 mounted in the panel, and the rear unit 10<SP>1</SP> is similarly clamped against a plate 32 secured to a bushing 30 to which is also secured a cover 28 fitting over the forward unit 10 and clamped to the plate 16.
