A gaseous stream controlling device com prises a series of nozzles 2<SP>1</SP> ... 2<SP>4</SP> in a pipe, terminating in a Venturi shaped member 3. It is stated that flow in the direction of the arrow A incurs a relatively small pressure loss, and in the opposite direction a much larger loss. The nozzles may have openings of cross sectional areas which progressively increase from left to right.
