Abstract

632,123. Handles for latches. AUSTIN MOTOR CO., Ltd., and LORD, L. P. Jan. 28,1948, No. 2511. [Class 44] A handle A for a latch is housed in a recess B formed in the face of the door, and is pivoted on a horizontal axis 6. Below the main handle is a second lever C pivoted at c, the levers being connected by a spring F which retains them in the closed position shown in Fig. 1. Pressure on the lower lever C throws the handle A out so that it may be grasped and pulled into the position shown in Fig. 4. The handle is linked to the latch mechanism by a rod E having a pin and slot connection with the handle which provides a free initial movement of the handle under the influence of the lever C.
