Abstract

635,684. Mounting rotors. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and GRIFFITHS, L. March 11, 1946, No. 7532. [Class 35] The rotor of a dynamoelectric machine adapted to be driven directly from, for example, the crank-shaft of an engine, is mounted on bearings on a boss protruding within the rotor' and secured, coaxially with the engine shaft, to the engine casing. The permanent magnet rotor 1 has a bearing sleeve 2 in which roller-bearings 4 are fixed and which has two projections 2a engaging slots in the magnet, one of these projections also engaging a slotted driving member 3. The supporting boss 7 is fixed to a casing 8 which also carries the stator parts 13, 14. Specification 590,149 is referred to.
