Abstract

626,976. Spray producers. HOPKINS, F. D. Oct. 11, 1946, No. 30418. [Class 69 (iii)] A sprayer for liquids or powders comprises a reservoir 10 for the substance to be sprayed, having at its lower end an outlet pipe 17 projecting downwardly into a chamber 18 provided with a nozzle 27 in its side wall, air being forced through a spraying tube across the open end of the nozzle. The reservoir 10 feeds the liquid to be sprayed to pipe 17 controlled by a tap 15 and dipping into chamber 18, adjustable' transversely by means of a screw 24. Compressed air is forced, via tube 29, to a passage 30 in the main body 14, having a valve 32 operated by means of a Bowden cable 36 and a spring 33. When this valve is open the air is forced past a further one-way valve 38 into a wind-box 40 and out through nozzles 42, 43 so as to suck the liquid from the chamber through the nozzle 27 and form a spray.
