Abstract

582,112. Building slabs; floors. WEEKS, E. G. Aug. 18, 1944, No. 15827. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] [Also in Group V] A wall or flooring unit is formed with a row of tapering cavities c of rectangular section extending into the unit from opposite edges and joined by small holes d' in a central partition d. The other edges are formed with tongue f<1> and groove f, halved or other lateral jointing means and if desired with bolt holes. Holes e in the faces of the unit provide for ventilation. The units may be of concrete faced on one or both sides with plaster or other material, and may be reinforced. Modified units are provided for corners and wall junctions. In a two-storey house, the units of the floor of the upper storey extend at their ends between the wall units of the upper and lower storeys and are provided with projections which enter the cavities c; the foundation is provided with similar projections.
