Abstract
579,264. Rotary pumps. MERCER, A. A. Sept. 4, 1944, No. 16806. [Class 110 (ii)] A gyratory piston 16, on a crank-shaft 17, has slippers 35 which bear on a fixed abutment 36, and is provided with axial holes 39, 40 which carry non-return sleeve valves allowing com-- munication between ovoid-shaped inlet ports in each end cover, and outlet ports in each end cover. One end cover 4 has extension ports 12, 13, and ducts 14, 15, and ports 10, 11, which communicate, through the piston, with the inlet and outlet ports in the other end cover. Lubrication ports 47, 48 communicate with the recess 33 and lubricant is forced by the slippers 35 to the crank pin and other moving surfaces by way of holes in the bush 29.
