[Class 6 (i)] A cultivator for row crop work comprises a plurality of soil engaging parts such as resilient tines, a supporting frame, and adjusting means between the tines and the frame permitting lateral, vertical, and fore and aft adjustment of the tines with reference to each other and to the frame. Two spaced cross beams 1 having bolt holes 2.are connected by struts 3, and laterally spaced bars 4 bolted in appropriate positions to the beams, and each having a semicircular recess 5 to receive the vertical arm 6 of a crank which is secured by a U-bolt 9. To a horizontal arm 10 of each crank is secured a spring tine consisting of two superposed leaf springs 11, to the forward spring of which the shovel or the like 16 is detachably secured so that the shovel and its securing bolt is capable of sliding with respect to the outer spring. A guiding fin 22 is provided as described in Specification 471,801, and may be used in conjunction with a link attachment as described in Specification 320,084, [Class 6 (i)], alteration of direction by turning of the tractor steering wheels causing the fin to deflect and steer the cultivator. A rolling blade 22a may be employed to replace the fin. The beams 1 have an upstanding frame 27, 28 to which are attached links 26, 34, secured to a tractor operating as described in Specification 510,352. The tines 11, 16 are adjusted vertically by loosening the U-bolts through which they may be slid, and fore and aft by having the crank arm projecting forwardly or rearwardly. Further fore and aft adjustment may be made by reversing the bar 4. Lateral adjustment is obtained by attaching the bars in any selected holes 2. Fenders 35 may be provided, and are attached by slotted links 36 to arms 37 secured to the beam 1 so that they can freely rise and fall. A tractor with a front axle arrangement as in Specification 541,220, [Group XXXI], may be used and a rear wheel adjustment as in Specification 548,259, [Group XXXIV].
