536203 Pile fabrics; carpets PINKUS PROPRIETARY Ltd S L 5 Nov 1940 16116 Convention date 11 May [Class 142 (iv)] Index D1R 3A2D1 R3A2F1 R3B1 R3C37 R3C3A R3C3B R3C4 R3D1A7 R3D1A2B R3D1A3A R3D3C R3D3F A pile fabric floor covering is made by needling a layer of hair or fibre on to both sides of a web of hessian &c impregnating the loosely built-up material with a binding material, drying the binder, and brushing one surface to remove binding material from the pile and to loosen the upper portions of the hair &c. A second layer of hair &c may be needled on to one surface prior to impregnating. Boiled linseed oil containing cobalt napthenate may be used as the binder.
