521,734. Ships' hulls. LJUNGSTROM, F. Nov. 26, 1938, No. 34495. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1937. [Class 113 (ii)] A ship's hull conforms wholly or mainly to the surface of a part of a body of revolution with its axis of revolution 11 extending transversely to the longitudinal dimensions of the ship, the .generating profile of which in planes containing said axis comprise two intersecting arcs forming substantially a V. Preferably the arcs are circular about centres 12, 13 located on opposite sides of the vertical longitudinal median plane of the hull. The planking or plating 10 may be supported by iron ribs 14 of L-section conforming to said profile and arranged in planes 15 containing the axis 11. These ribs may be interconnected by plates 16, 18 and ties 17. Specification 470,564 is referred to.
