Abstract

501,575. Endless - - track vehicles. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-. (Marmon-Herrington Co., Inc.) July 30, 1937, No. 33344/38. Divided out of 499,801. [Class 79, (i)] In a load-carrying roller for endless-track vehicles, comprising a pair of axially spaced wheels 22 whose hubs 21 are journalled within a bearing sleeve 29, a supporting arm 35 lying between the wheels is secured to one side of a flange 30 on the sleeve, which flange is situated to one side of the middle of the sleeve so that the arm lies substantial centrally between the wheels. The wheels are held together by a bolt 25 with the inner ends of their hubs 21 abutting one another. Grease packings 55 are provided between the wheels and the ends of the sleeves, and enable the wheel bearings 27 and interior of the sleeve to be packed with grease. The sup porting arm 35 may be the bell-crank plate described in Specification 499,801., the sleeve 29 being secured to the heel of the plate the two arms of which are, disposed horizontally and vertically.
