Abstract
476,149. Vehicle spring-suspensions; hinges. HEROLD, W. F., and BASSICK CO. May 5, 1937, No. 12866. [Class 108 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] A wheel mounting comprises a spindle, an eccentric bearing member mounted thereon with a rubber bush interposed and a wheel mounted on the bearing member. The wheel bearing member 15 is eccentrically carried by a spindle 20 between which and the member 15 is interposed a compressed rubber or like sleeve 16 which is bonded to a metal sleeve 17 surrounding the spindle 20. The spindle 20 is connected to the fork or checks 11 of the castor wheel and held therein by a nut 21, the sleeve 17 being positioned and held by ribs 14 engaging notches in the sleeve 16. The wheel 26 is mounted on the bearing member 15 by means of rollers 24 and sleeve 27.
