Abstract

501,402. Ventilators. MARSHALL, J. Aug. 23, 1937, No. 23013. [Class 137] Air is delivered from an air duct through a directional discharge device comprising a flared member A with flanges 2, 5 rotatably mounted in. circular bearings 4. From a croas bar 7 is suspended a bar 8 which carries an intermediate baffle member 12 by a pin 17 in a slot 18, and an outer baffle member B bya pin 22 in a slot 23. Guide rods 11 extend across the opening and through apertures 13, 14 in member 12 which have friction linings 15 to prevent free sliding movement. The frusto-conical part 19 of the baffle B and the disc 16 are slotted to take the bar 8. The guide rods pass also through tubes welded to the part 12 of the baffle B. By movement of the bar 8 by its handle 9, the baffles 12, 3 are moved horizontally along the guide rods so as to be eccentrically disposed in the opening, and give an increased air flow in a direction which may be varied by rotation of the member A.
