490,482. Combing - machines. SACHSISCHE TEXTILMASCHINENFABRIK VORM. R. HARTMANN AKT.-GES. Aug. 9, 1937, No. 21860. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1936. [Class 120 (i)] In a Heilmann combing- machine the nip of the drawing - off device is brought close to the top comb e by the provision of one or more small rollers h, Figs. 1 and 2, in association with the usual drawing-off devices comprising a pair of rollers or a stationary block f and a driven roller g. The small roller or rollers h are located as shown in longitudinal grooves in the block or web f one of the rollers being located between the vertical axial plane of the roller g and the top comb. In a modification, the member f is placed below the drawing-off roller g, Fig. 3, and an endless belt i arranged around the web f and the rollers h. Where two drawing-off rollers g are provided, Fig. 4, two rollers h are mounted freely at either side of the rollers g and the fibres drawn off between the upper roller g and the belt i. An abutment k is provided to secure the belt i in position. Alternatively two such belts i may be used.
