Abstract
478,780. Liquid - fuel burners. AMSTUTZ, J. March 3, 1937, No. 6337. Convention date, March 3, 1936. [Class 75 (i)] Liquid fuel is supplied by an adjustable nozzle l to one half of a partitioned cup k and passes through one of two pipes e<1>, e<2> to a depression in a plate d. The plate d is covered by a shallow annular bell f formed with plane slots f<1>.The fuel burns with air entering through a central pipe d<2>, the pipes e<1>, e<2>, and inclined perforations g<1> in a cylindrical grate g, a rotating flame being produced. The perforations may be drilled or stamped out of the grate. A base b on which the plate d rests is fitted with an electric heater m for use at starting and carries a support b<1> for the pipes e<1>, e<2>. Whilst fuel is being supplied through one of the pipes el, e<2> any coke deposited in the other pipe is burnt away.
