Abstract
441,014. Guides for belts of drawing- apparatus for rovings. CASABLANCAS, F., 166, Calle de Fernando Casablancas, Sabadell, Barcelona, Spain. July 10, 1934, No. 20212. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 3, 1935.] [Class 120 (ii)] In high-draft apparatus for roving and spinning machinery employing endless belts the guide frame for the belts is provided with members 35 which serve to guide only the outer portions of the belt and provide a central space through which the belt may be passed, after being suitably distorted, for insertion or removal. The members 35 are preferably of flattened or oblong cross-section to minimize accumulation of fluff. The frame is struck from sheet metal and is in the form of two side plates 31 connected by an integral cross-plate 32, which serves to guide the roving, and a riveted cross bar 33. Guards or gatemembers 50, Fig. 4, are pivoted at 51 on the side plates and are so shaped that they prevent the insertion of the top roller in the recess 41 until they are moved by the engagement of the bottom roller with the hooked portion 53 consequent upon the correct seating of the frame on the bottom roller. The hooked portion 53, by its engagement with the bottom roller, locks the guide frame in position.
