Abstract

848,747. Drafting textile fibres. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. Nov. 4, 1958 [Nov. 15, 1957], No. 35345/58. Class 120(2). In a drafting mechanism in which a top apron cage 1 is supported on the journal 3 of a top roll located within an apron 10 and has a rigid guide bar 5, the apron 10 is tensioned by a resilient member which bears against the upper rim of the apron and has lateral guides. In each of the two alternative arrangements shown in Fig. 1, a plate 6, having an upper curved edge engaging the inside of the apron 10 and guide lugs 9, is secured by pins 8 fixed in the bar 5. In Fig. 4, a wire spring 16 engages the outside of the apron 10 and is secured at either end by the eyes 17 held on projections of the cage 1 and positioned by its ends 19 which bear against the bar 5. The bent end parts of the spring 16 form the lateral guides. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 812,335.
