[Class 146 (i)] In loose-leaf binders in which perforated sheets, catalogues, or the like are threaded on one or more posts and retained by a longitudinally slidable locking bar having apertures for engagement with shoulders on the posts, the bar is provided with two or more tongues adapted to secure the bar in its position for use and. limit its movement so that the apertures therein will accurately register with the binder posts. The locking bar c is housed within a pleat a' on the cover a and has keyhole slots d engaging shoulders g on filing posts f which are mounted on a pleat b<1> on the cover b. The bar c is provided with a down-bent operating nose c and two or more tongues b, formed by punching out from the bar or by portions of reduced width at the end of the bar, and which are passed through apertures i in the pleat a<1> and folded back or otherwise bent out of the plane of the bar. The nose c<1> may be replaced by a bridge-shaped hump or a folded-back tongue punched from the centre of the bar, or a knob riveted thereto and projecting through an aperture in the upper surface of the pleat a<1>. The bar c may, alternatively, be mounted in the same manner on a second metal bar hinged to the cover.
