431,917. Plug couplings combined with switches. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP NEDERLANDSCHE APPARATENFABRIEK NEDAP, 30, Schinkelstraat, and KRAAN, G., 7 II, Rietwijkerstraat, both in Amsterdam. Jan. 21, 1935, No. 2020. [Class 38 (i)] A socket-coupling for connecting a plug member to different circuits, such as the various lines of a wireless exchange network, comprises a cover 1 rotatable on a base 2 and carrying resiliently mounted contacts 18, 20 that move over fixed contacts 4, 7 carried by the base 2. The contacts 18, 20 are connected through fuses, resistances, or condensers to the sockets 10, 11 into which the loud-speaker plug is inserted, and the contacts 4, 7 are connected to the supply lines. Between the contacts 4, 7 are insulating blocks that provide an " off " position in which the sockets are not connected to any line. The movement of the cover relatively to the base is limited by a stud on one member entering a segmental gap in the other. In assembling the cover to the base, a pair of elongated members 9 serve to guide the contacts 18, 20 into position as the end 23 of the spindle 22 is fitted into the cover. Instead of the sockets 10, 11, the contacts 18, 20, and their connections being mounted direct on the cover 1 they may be mounted on a separate drum that rotates with the cover 1.
