421,476. Valve circuits for wireless reception. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London.-(Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie; 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin) June 21, 1933, No. 17694. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In a valve amplifier, rectifier, or oscillator of the kind described in Specification 418,132, the anode voltage, and the biassing of the electron density and velocity regulating grids, are so chosen that the valve operates on a falling portion of the anode-current curve, as for instance at the point W, Fig. 4b, where the density is at a maximum. As shown in Fig. 8, the input signals are applied to the control grid G, the density and velocity regulating grids G1, G2 being biassed from the H.T. supply B. The amplified signals are rectified by a similar valve V2. An additional electrode, which acts as a screening grid, may be inserted immediately before the anode A. The invention is applicable to valves of the type specified and containing rarefied gas. Specification 420,911 also is referred to.
