Abstract
396,017. Magnetos. BOSCH AKT.- GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Oct. 19, 1931, No. 28938. Convention date, Nov. 8, 1930. Void [Publishedunder Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 35.] The armature, interrupter, and condenser of a flywheel magneto are assembled as a unit on an assembly plate which can be secured to a base plate of any formation. The object of the invention is to enable the same pattern magneto to be employed with different types of engine. In the form shown in Fig. 2, an annular magnet 4 is magnetically insulated from the flywheel 2 by distance pieces 6. Within the magnet, a metal plate 15 is mounted on a centering boss 16 on the hub of a base plate 14 which is secured to the engine crankcase. The plate 15 carries two trident armatures 17 with windings 20 on the centre limbs, two interrupters and two condensers. The cam ring 29 is secured to the hub 28 of the flywheel. In a modification, Fig. 4, a single U- shaped armature 36 is screwed to a metal plate 31 and between the limbs of the armature and on the side of the shaft opposite to the coil 35 are disposed a single interrupter 38 and a condenser. The plate 31 is secured by screws to the engine casing 32.
