Abstract
374,521. Four-stroke engines; cylinders. LAUTOUR, F. DE, 155, Cholmley Gardens, London, and BRANDA PRODUCTS, Ltd., Hope Gibbons Buildings, Dixon Street, Wellington, New Zealand. March 12, 1931, No. 35488. Divided on 372,369 and addition to 266,144, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of]. [Class 7 (ii).] In an engine in which air or mixture is drawn into the cylinder during the first part only of the suction stroke, as described in the parent Specification, the charge is whirled in a volute inlet passage 14 surrounding the valve stem 12, rapid opening of the port being effected by a mask 16 above the valve face.
