Abstract
365,474. Floor-cleaning apparatus. ELECTROLUX, Ltd., 153, Regent Street, London.-(Assignees of Inventia Patent- Verwertungs-Ges. ; 10, Herrenacker, Schaffhausen, Switzerland.) June 12, 1931, No. 17172. Convention date, July 18, 1930. [Classes 19, 60, and 138 (i).] Grinding, waxing, polishing, and like tools are adapted to be detachably secured to discshaped brush or carrier members of a floortreating machine by means of a resilient fastening member adapted to penetrate centrally through, and engage behind the tool. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, a disc 11 carrying an annular arrangement of bristles 27 is formed with a rectangular opening to receive spring arms 19 of a fastening member 18, Fig. 5, the arms being adapted to engage behind projections 16. The flat portion of the member 18 is adapted to hold in place the inner rim 24 of a disc 20 which is provided on its outer edge with grinding plates 22. The disc may be reversed when one of the plates 22 becomes worn by use. In a modification, shown in Fig. 4, a felt disc 25 is secured to the brush disc 11 by means of a fastening member 18, the arms 19 of which pass through perforations 26. The arms 19 instead of.being integral with the member 18 may be formed from a separate member held in position by means of tongues or a rivet. The central part of the polishing disc 25 may be reinforced by being impregnated with oil or shellac. The fastening member may be attached rigidly or removably to the disc 11, the springs 19 being directed downwardly.
