Abstract

328,587. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 22, 1928. Right to Patent relinquished. Motor spirit.-Petrol consisting substantially of saturated hydrocarbons is blended with polymers of lower olefines to produce an anti-knocking fuel. For example, di-isobutylene or polymers, amylene polymers especially in admixture with polymers of butylenes, or a mixture of such polymers such as those obtained according to the process described in Specification 322,102, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], may be used. Iron carbonyl, lead tetraethyl, alcohols, amines, or benzol may also be added.
