Powder distributers.-In a container for powdered material having a tubular obturator and pourer 4 guided in the lid or closure member 2 of the container. both the obturator and pourer and the lid or closure member are formed of material such as cardboard or papier machÚ in which there is inherent a frictional resistance to relative movement. The obturator, which has a closed outer end and an open inner end and an opening 5 in its side wall for pouring purposes when the obturator is pulled out from the position in which it closes the opening 3 in which it is guided, is eccentrically arranged in the lid or closure member 2 and is prevented from being completely withdrawn therefrom by lugs or projections 7 at its inner end. The member 2 may be removable or may be in the form of a disc seated upon an internal ledge of the container and secured by a bent-over portion of the rim thereof; the closure member may be in the form of a flanged disc or cap frictionally secured in the container, a compressible packing ring may be arranged between the flange of the disc and the wall of the container and a removable lid may be provided to cover the obturator and closure member. The contents of the container may be carried in a bag or liner connected to the lid or closure member. The closed end of the obturator is formed with a ridge 6 to determine the closing position thereof and the ridge may be integral with the obturator or attached thereto and may be provided with a grip piece, tab or loop for withdrawal purposes. The opening 5 may be round or elongated or replaced by a number of holes or perforations. The obturator may be provided with a coarse thread so that a slight rotary movement effects the necessary axial displacement.
