Abstract

927,866. Linings and spouts for boxes. MECAPLAST S.A. Oct. 9, 1959 [Oct. 9, 1958], No. 34235/59. Class 18. A box 1 has a plastics liner 3 provided with a retractable pouring spout 5 which can be flattened or pushed inside out e.g. as in Fig. 2 within the liner when the lid 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of the box 1 is closed. A rigid support 10 held between the liner and the box has a throat 9 which keeps neck extension 4 of the liner 3 centered during filling. In a modification, the outer box opens at top and bottom and can be folded flat, the support 10 being secured to one side wall; upon collapsing, the spout is squashed between the lid portion 2<SP>1</SP> and the support 10. In a further embodiment, the liner has a wide neck suitable for dispensing granular or viscous goods.
