Abstract

263,894. Bentley, H. July 10, 1925. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A Diesel or like engine has a trunk piston which compresses air in an annular space 1<c> and delivers it through a non-return valve 7a to a receiver 7 from which it is delivered, on the out-stroke of the piston, to the combustion space through a pair of parallel valves 8, arranged opposite to the fuel nozzle 9. The inlet port 4 is in the form of a quadrant of a circle. The cylinder clearance is varied by a governor-controlled piston 5.
