Abstract
261,765. Bollack, L. A. Nov. 19, 1925, [Convention date]. Suspending and mounting bodies.-The body of a motor vehicle, including the wings, running boards, radiator or radiator casing, and petrol, is carried by a frame which is supported, without the interposition of springs or resilient devices, on the chassis-frameat three points, one at the front and two at the rear thereof. The front connection d of the body-frame b to the chassis-frame a comprises a link, pivot, roller, or universal joint situated on the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The side members of the frame b are, towards their rear ends, connected by a transverse member k which is supported at e, f on the frame a by universal or rigid connections. The member k may be replaced by straps connecting the side members of the frames a, b. The rear connections between the two frames are preferably situated near the rear suspension springs or in a vertical plane passing through the centre of gravity of the load.
