Abstract
Two different changeable and disposable razor blades can be fixed onto a re-usable handle. A wide blade (figure 1) cuts close defined lines into head or facial hair. A narrow blade (figure 2) is used to access hair in confined space and cut tramlines. Preferably, the wide blade cartridge is attached to the handle via a clip inside a socket 1 at one end of the cartridge. The wide blade cartridge preferably includes blades 2, a bristle flattening castellation 3 and a lubrication strip 4. Preferably the narrow blade cartridge is mounted on the handle via a clip in hole 6.
Description
Fine Trim Razor
Description
This invention relates to a system of razor blades for use in shaving of men's facial hair into neat and straight lines.
Razor blades currently available are efficient for the shaving of open areas of bristles on the face but are not suitable for the shaping of sideburns and / or narrow or goatee' style beards.
To overcome the problem of achieving neat and straight edges to the beard and access to the bristles close to the ears and the nose the present invention uses a selection of changeable and disposable blades fixed onto a re-usable handle. The ends of the blades are exposed, unlike blades available at present, to help achieve straight cuts.
The different blades each have a different function. Blade A is used for cutting long, straight lines and blade B for gaining access into narrow spaces near ears and under nose and for shaping narrow lines within the beard or sideburns.
Both blades would be fitted with removable plastic covers to prevent accidental cutting during removal / fitting to the handle.
The invention will now be described by way of example and reference to the accompanying drawings which: Figure 1 -shows an isometric view of the wide blade A. Figure 2-shows an isometric view of the narrow blade B Figure 3 -shows the handle that can be used to hold both blades A and B. Figure 1 shows blade A, fitted within a plastic housing, that can be attached to a reusable handle via the clip inside the socket 1. Having the handle at the end of the razor instead if the middle, as with normal razors, ensures a clear view of the area to be shaved. There are steel cutting blades fitted to both sides of the razor to enable cutting of the facial bristles to the left or right of the razor handle in an upward or downward direction. The ends of each blade 2 finish at the end of the plastic housing and have no protective ends which make it easy to cut fine edges to beards and sideburns on either side of the face using either hand. The castellation in the plastic housing 3 ensures the flattening of the facial bristles before cutting and the lubrication strips 4 make the blade slide over the surface of the skin. The angle of 56 degrees S makes the blades line up at the correct angle to the face.
Figure 2-shows an isometric view of the narrow blade B which, when attached to the same handle as blade A uses via the clip in hole 6, can be employed to trim within the narrow strip adjacent to the ears and nose. It can also be used to form narrow tramlines' within the area of the beard left uncut. It can also be used to cut tramlines' into the hair upon the head which at present can only be done properly by using a traditional cut-throat' razor.
Figure 3 shows the handle with pin 7 that can be fixed to either blade easily.
