Abstract

A process for the crystallisation of the dimagnesium salt of 3- nitronaphthalene-1,5-disulfonic acid, consists in crystallising 3- nitronaphthalene-1,5-disulfonic acid from the acid reaction mixture of the nitration of 1,5-naphthalene-disulfonic acid (Armstrong's acid) with an aqueous magnesium salt solution at a temperature between 90 DEG and 120 DEG C.
