Abstract

201,194. Bark, B. Feb. 25, 1922. Gas fires.-Radiant heat for warming rooms &c. is produced by burning a mixture of air and vaporized liquid fuel to heat perforated tubes of refractory material, the tubes being mounted over a mixing chamber in which provision is made for the passage of a portion of the mixture for heating the vaporizing tube. Fig. 1 shows perforated refractory tubes 32<a> supported by an apertured plate 31 and a rod 30 on a mixing chamber 20 adapted to be placed in the cup of an ordinary wickless stove. The mixing chamber 20 is fitted at the top with circularly arranged burner nozzles 29 arranged below the tubes 32<a> and at its base is perforated with holes 21 at which a portion of the mixture burns to supply heat to the vaporizing tube. Other burners suitable for heating perforated refractory tubes and in which the vaporizing tube is heated in the aforesaid manner are described. Specification 4526/00 is referred to.
