Abstract
173,593. Bowden Wire, Ltd., and Davies, P. Sept. 30, 1920. Atmospheric gas burners; perforated-tube burners; flame spreaders.-A Bunsen burner for heating gas cookers, stoves, &c. is provided with a straight or annular slot and a flat baffle-plate or flame-spreader so arranged that it lies in a plane substantially parallel with the flame issuing from the slot. In one form, Fig. 1, the combustible mixture from a mixing-tube g enters a vertical tube a and issues from an annular slot b between an adjustable disc a<1> and the tube a, the baffle-plate c serving to spread the flame and permit of efficient combustion taking place. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the baffle-plate c is secured by a flange e and set-screw f so as to be capable of movement to adjust the width of the slot b.
