Abstract
An insulated interlocking roofing tile having a fluid passageway for heating fluid incorporates a thin heat absorbing cover maintained close to a supporting surface by differential air pressure.
Description
SPECIFICATION
Shapeable roof and wall tiles able to retain or conduct high or low temperatures
The majority of swellings have roofs, covered with either slate or clay tiles. Both types of covers are extremely britle and when they crack, if undetected, one crack can cause serious damage to the supporting roof structure.
Apart from this problem, strong winds can blow tiles off the roof, because only a fifth of the course is nailed to the roof battens.
The present invention eliminates these shortcomings and introduces an improvement well beyond only providing cover for the house.
The proposed roof and wall tiles, made preferably but not exclusively of metal, will contain a layer of insulated material underneath the tiles (drawing No.
1) and this insulation will prevent heat from escaping into the air.
The construction of the tiles is such, that they interlock with each adjacent tile (drawing No. 2) producing a uniform surface which is wind-resistant and also waterproof. The material the tile is made of will be crackproof.
The basic tile shape is covered with heat absorbing foil which will accept up to 400to from the heat of the sun.
The tiles, being made from two layers of preferably metal, have a restricted passage between the two inner surfaces to allow liquid to pass in a predetermined path, helped by either a pump or gravity.
Thewaterthus heated is continuously running down and is replaced by cold water coming from the top of the roof tank and is collected in an insulated hot water tank. Any excessive heat could serve as the source of a refrigeration absorption unit, using liquid amonia.
High pressure hot water vapour can be used for central heating, either under the floor or in the walls ofthe house.
The tiles can be coloured. Light interference can be applied to stainless steel, (cladded onto a mild steel substrata) to produce irridescent or continuous colour in any of 6 colours and all colours are guaranteed to be fadeproof because no pigment is used.
The illusion created is identical to a drop of oil spread on the surface of water.
1. What I claim is a novel system for shaping the surface of an individual rectangle made of metal, plastic or composite material in such a manner as to allow it to interlock with each adjacent, identically or differently shaped rectangle to form a uniform surface which is waterproof and wind-resistant.
2. What I claim as in claim 1, said rectangular shape has underneath a restricted space allowing a liquid contained between two inner surfaces to pass into another similarly constructed shape through a leakproof connector.
3. What I claim as in claim 1 and claim 2 is that the rectangular shape has incorporated insulating
material underneath the said shape to conserve heat
received from the sun, and to prevent the disipating of heat already collected.
4. What I claim as in claim 1 and claim 2 and claim 3 is the system to incorporate a thin selective heat cover and to keep the said cover close to the supporting surface of the shape, using air pressure, being higher than the atmospheric pressure and keeping this pressure all the time by employing hermetically sealed, preferably transparent covers, over the heat absorbing layer, supported by the said shape.
5. What I claim as in claim 1 that the said shape can be integral of a number of identical shapes made of the same or other material.

Claims (5)
1. What I claim is a novel system for shaping the surface of an individual rectangle made of metal, plastic or composite material in such a manner as to allow it to interlock with each adjacent, identically or differently shaped rectangle to form a uniform surface which is waterproof and wind-resistant.
2. What I claim as in claim 1, said rectangular shape has underneath a restricted space allowing a liquid contained between two inner surfaces to pass into another similarly constructed shape through a leakproof connector.
3. What I claim as in claim 1 and claim 2 is that the rectangular shape has incorporated insulating
material underneath the said shape to conserve heat
received from the sun, and to prevent the disipating of heat already collected.

What I claim as in claim 1 and claim 2 and claim 3 is the system to incorporate a thin selective heat cover and to keep the said cover close to the supporting surface of the shape, using air pressure, being higher than the atmospheric pressure and keeping this pressure all the time by employing hermetically sealed, preferably transparent covers, over the heat absorbing layer, supported by the said shape.
