Pistons; pistons, cooling.-In a piston for an internal-combustion engine of the type having a detachable head A<1>, in which a core C is inserted, the bolts D securing the flange c<3> of the core C to the piston-head and the bolts E securing the piston-head to the skirt are arranged in the same circle, but the nuts of the bolts E engage a flange a<4> in the skirt below the level of the flange c<3>. The top of the core conforms to the shape of the piston-head, and the core is centered by a perforated flange a<2> in the head. The cooling fluid is admitted by a passage F to the space between the core and the piston head and escapes by a passage G.
