Lids and covers. - An internal closure 1 of paper, pasteboard, cardboard, or like material for paper receptacles is so formed that, after application, a portion of its surface lies at the same level as the upper edge of the vessel so that, if the vessel is inverted on a support, the weight of the contents is taken by the closure without the closure being forced out. The, closure is completely formed before application, and when applied its upturned flange 5 springs into the groove 4 in the vessel.
