Abstract

21,304. Genzel, E. A. Sept. 25. Automatic instruments.-The tracker box 2 and the tune-sheet winding-mechanism 5 are mounted in a framework 1 adapted to be placed over the keyboard of a piano or the like so as not to interfere with the manual operation of the instrument when in position. The tracker ports are connected by channels, formed by grooves in a pair of boards, to holes in the base-blocks of the framework. The key-blocks, on which these base-blocks are adapted to rest, are bored with similar series of holes which are connected by similar channel boards 21<a> and pipes 16 to the pneumatic action 19, located within the piano case below the key-bed. Pneumatic means for operating the celeste rod 29 comprises a bellows 25, with a push-rod 27, connected by a pipe to a similar bellows, which is connected by a link 28 to an arm 23 of the celeste rod. The clock-work or electric motor for driving the tune-sheet is controlled by a centrifugal governor and friction brake, and the reversing gear is operated by means of a lever 7.
