167,929. Howorth, F. W., (Ayres, J. T.) June 21, 1920. Cleaning fabrics.-In a process for cleaning and renovating fabrics, particularly applicable to the felts of paper machines, foreign elements are loosened or torn off and the nap raised on the face 12 of the felt by a brush 13, the back of the felt is next sprayed with cleaning liquid from a pipe 15, co-operating with a suction box 16, and the felt is further dried by a suction box 17, and may be finally brushed or carded. Both brushings may be omitted.
