Abstract

1509297 Change-speed control CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 14 July 1976 [13 Aug 1975] 33760/75 Heading F2D Selection of low ratio, or a group of low ratios, in a vehicle gear-box 12 is prevented at vehicle speeds above a predetermined value by clcsure of a switch comprising rotary and fixed contacts 15, 16 in a tachograph 10, the switch controlling an indicator lamp 29 and a relay 18 which governs a solenoid-actuated valve 24, 25 controlling the supply of fluid, e.g. air, to a lowratio selection inhibitor in the gear-box. The contact 16 is adjustable to set the speed at which the device operates. In a modification the contact 16 is non-adjustable, and an additional, adjustable contact controls a further lamp to indicate when a predetermined road speed is reached.
