1304985 Variable speed gear control ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970] 22376/71 Heading F2D A variable speed gear clutch or brake 2 is operable by fluid pressure controlled by a shift valve 11, the pressure difference across which controls (e.g. via a piston 18 carrying a magnet) a switch 24 in an engine 27 control circuit 26 to reduce the fuel supply during a ratio change. The circuit 26 may include an adjustable timer to control the time the fuel supply is reduced.
